Investment Strategy

Forex (foreign exchange market, FX market, or currency market) refers to trading in the global currency markets or the exchange of foreign currencies (hence the term foreign exchange). It is the largest financial market of the world as it has a daily spot turnover of some 1.9 trillion dollars.

Currency exchange transactions comprise the simultaneous purchase and sale of different currencies on the inter-bank market. Exchange rates accrue from these transactions, so that the value of each currency can be expressed in any of the others. The nominal exchange rate expresses the relative pricing between two currencies on the foreign exchange market.

Currencies are always traded in pairs, on both spot and futures markets. It is not possible to buy or sell dollars alone; euros are traded for dollars, dollars for yen and so on. Thus, exchange rates are always given as a pair, for example "EUR/USD 1.433" which means that to get one euro, you pay 1.433 US dollars.
